ABOUT THE EVENT VENUE

The Queen Elizabeth 2 (QE2) is a historic ocean liner that has been transformed into a luxurious hotel located at Port Rashid in Bur Dubai, Dubai. The QE2 was originally built for the Cunard Line in Clydebank, Scotland, and was launched on September 20, 1967. She embarked on her maiden voyage on May 2, 1969, and soon became one of the most famous ocean liners in the world.

In 2008, the QE2 was retired from active service and was purchased by Istithmar, the investment arm of Dubai World, with plans to convert her into a floating hotel. After several years of refurbishment and careful preservation of her original features, the QE2 was officially opened as a hotel on April 18, 2018.

This venue will host the 10th anniversary of the African Student Recruitment Conference in 2025.
